Underground Garage (1957)

Hampstead, London. M/S of a car driving up to the suburban home of Colonel Westland Wright. The woman driving parks on a canopied contraption on the front garden., then gets out and goes into the house. Indoors, she turns a switch; outside we see the car slowly being lowered underground, until the top of the concrete canopy is level with the ground. Note: there are notes and correspondence on file which suggest the woman seen here is Barbara Menzies. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
