Full summer : Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is one of the largest and most famous Carnival celebrations in the world. It takes place annually before the start of Lent and attracts millions of tourists to the city. The festivities in Rio are centered around the Sambódromo, a large parade avenue where samba schools compete in highly choreographed and colorful dance performances. The Carnival in Rio also features street parties known as “blocos“, where revelers dance and sing in the streets to live music. In addition to the parades and parties, there are also balls and other events held in various venues throughout the city.
