Former chairman of China Huarong Asset Management executed for graft

Lai Xiaomin, former board chairman of one of China’s top state-owned asset management firms, was executed on January 29 for taking a staggering sum in bribes, authorities said. Lai, who accepted bribes of over billion yuan ($277 million), was executed following a sentence by the Second Municipal Intermediate People’s Court of Tianjin, approved by the country’s top court.
