Alechinsky, daprès nature (Luc de Heusch, 1970)

Portrait of one of the most important Belgian painters of the post-war generation, friend of the filmmaker since the birth of the Cobra group. Cinematographic creation is superimposed on pictorial creation, without attempting to ape it, and even less to redouble its movement, by making the camera spin from one spot of color to another - heaviness and illusionism of which Luc de Heusch is in no way fooled: “The image in the process of being made, of being transformed on canvas or paper calls for other images, nothing else.“ The moments of fun make it a moment of pure happiness.
