The bassist on the original version is Hubert Eaves IV (his father Hubert Eaves III is a keyboardist, songwriter and record producer who worked on all of the hits by the influential dance act D-Train in the early also did session work with Mtume). His bass playing is absolutely jaw-dropping: insane pocket, huge and warm sound and ultra classy melodic ’s definately underrated and that’s a massive understatement...
