Unidentified Song (“As He Goes on His Permanent Way“) [Incomplete]

Song is dated to have been possibly recorded in the early 1970’s on a local radio station. May also possibly be incomplete since it seems to have been cut off at the start of the song. This is definitely lostwave more targeted towards train fans/railfans/steam enthusiasts but anyone can help in the search. Context clues of the song seem to describe the end of steam and the rise of dieselization (an era where more modern locomotives that run on fuel came in to replace steam) more specifically a rusting Pacific A4 (a specific classification of a British Steam Locomotive for those who are not railfans or train enthusiasts) of an unknown name relaying the events that took place before he ended up in the rut he was in soon to be sent to his permanent end (meaning the cutter’s torch to be melted down for scrap) which to most railfans is the worst way for an engine to go or be retired which the song displays very empathetically. (Atlantics, Trams and Pacifics are all specific locomotive types based on wheel configuration/number of wheels that are mentioned in the song as well once again for those who don’t know) Since lostwave is more popular than it was back in 2010, maybe now is the time to reach out to finally get help from the community to find the singer of this song and the actual name. I would also like someone to upload this to to have it archived or have it listed on the Lostwave Wiki at least. Original uploader of the song - Please do not harass him for answers, he said that he doesn’t know much about it besides the fact that his dad recorded it 50 years ago.
