Due to the pandemic, they made a shortened and adapted version: the Christmas party and battle scenes are narrated. The performance starts from the beautiful pas de deux of Clara and The Nutcracker in the Kingdom of Snows, continues with the Waltz of Snowflakes and leaves for the Kingdom of this pas de deux... I don’t know if I’ve already told this story around here. Everyone knows that The Nutcracker is my starting point in dance, and that was the first repertoire I danced to. When I went to the first dress rehearsal in the theater, I almost cried with emotion! Until the pas de deux of Clara and The Nutcracker arrived... And the emotion turned into a bucket of cold water. The teacher who reassembled the piece simply changed the song to a Mariah Carey hit! The justification for such an exchange? The original song was slow and boring, she wanted something more romantic. In the end, I danced, had fun and had to accept the exchange. This year completes ten years since I started dancing, but until today it doesn’t let me down! Who knows, maybe I’ll even have the opportunity to dance this piece again?
