This song has a special meaning to me. I relate to the lyrics of the original French song as the story is close to my life experience: I left everything behind to move to Los Angeles and started a new life. The music enhances the meaning of the lyrics with a chord progression of a melancholic nature. The monotony of the slowed down hip hop beat throughout the whole song emphasizes that feeling as well. This project took days of meticulous work from researching sounds, creating/tweaking sounds, playing instruments, programming and mixing everything while making sure the outcome of my instrumental would be as close as possible to the original.
