The Secret Garden is an ICONIC 90’s film | first viewing and reaction

The next two weeks, we’ll be doing reactions to adaptations of the beloved children’s novel The Secret Garden. Today we’ll be starting with the iconic 1993 adaptation. The Secret Garden was directed by Agnieszka Holland and produced by Francis Ford Coppola and American Zoetrope. It stars Kate Maberly as Mary Lennox, a young orphan girl who is sent to live with her mysterious uncle at Misselthwaite Manor. There she will uncover the secrets of screams echoing in the night, a hunchback man in perpetual grief, and the garden that seems to be locked away from the world.
