NEW: A Los Angeles city firefighter was injured in an explosion while battling a small fire at a homeless encampment on Monday, authorities said. The firefighter was first moved to an open softball field and then transported by helicopter to Northridge Hospital. Their condition was not immediately released, nor was the cause of the explosion.
