The Police - Does Everyone Stare (Copeland Derangement version & special video 2020)

Klark Kent revives! Listen to this speedy version of the classic Stewart Copeland Police song ’Does Everyone Stare’. Video is (re-)edited from scenes of his documentary ‘Everyone Stares’. Enjoy! Copeland worked on the score for his Police documentary, which includes mashups of Police songs, something he calls “derangements.“ These reworkings had Sting and Summers’ blessings. Some quotes from Stewart: “I got the original multi-tracks. I took the vocal from one song and put it on the backing track of another. I had so much fun that I forgot that part of the process was supposed to be getting Andy over to participate in this free-for-all with the old material, and Sting as well. It’s still totally the Police, but a refreshed, re-imagined version of it. And before you know it you’re at the Sundance Film Festival with a full movie on your name. What made it interesting is that it is not a standard band documentary in MTV style, but filmed from the band itself.” If you like this derangement, you might also enjoy my remix of the original studio-version, see:
