Today I am cooking at home and making the best tender juicy pot roast in three different ways. The first is a classic oven pot roast and the other two will be cooked in the slow cooker.

*Classic Pot Roast INGREDIENTS*
2.5 lb ( kg ) beef chuck roast
3 Tbsp (27 g) all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp coarse salt
1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
1 1/2 lb (681 g) potatoes
2 large carrots
1 celery stick
*GRAVY*
1/4 cup (60 ml) of rendered fat or cooking oil
1/2 small onion (diced)
1/4 cup (40g) all-purpose flour
14.5 fl oz (429 ml) low sodium beef broth or stock
salt and pepper to taste
Bake in a preheated oven at 275 degrees F / 135 degrees C
for 3 hours or until tender
*Slow Cooker POT ROAST & Gravy*
INGREDIENTS
4 lbs beef chuck roast
3 large carrots
1 to 1 1/2 pounds potatoes
fresh sprig of thyme (optional)
fresh sprig of rosemary (optional)
6-quart Crockpot
FLOUR DREDGE
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
GRAVY
1/4 cup cooking oil
1 large onion (diced)
3 to 4 cloves garlic (minced)
4 to 5 Tbsp flour dredge
2 cups beef broth
1 tsp dark soy sauce
salt and pepper to taste
*EASY Mississippi POT ROAST*
INGREDIENTS
4 to 5 lb beef chuck roast
1 oz pkg Ranch seasoning
1 oz pkg Au Jus gravy mix
4 Tbsp unsalted butter
8 to 10 whole peppercini
6-quart slow cooker set on high for 5 to 6 hrs
