Russian Soldiers in Syria Rehearse for 2016 Victory Parade

Russian soldiers at an airbase in Syria’s coastal province of Latakia held rehearsals on Wednesday for the upcoming Victory Day Parade. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, commitments in Syria mean the soldiers at the Latakia airbase will be unable to join in the victory parade at Moscow’s Red Square on May 9. However, they will hold their own parade in Latakia, running simultaneously with the traditional event in Moscow which will this year mark the 71st anniversary of victory on the eastern front
