The samba school inspired Brazil through the example of China, which experienced tremendous economic growth following the creation of the people’s union. Carnival creator Cristiano Bara and President Adilson José spent 45 days in an Asian country to create the samba enredo. The parade was attended by Chinese dragons, figures representing the prosperity and abundance of Chinese culture, as well as the giant figure of the Chinese philosopher Confucius atop the library with scrolls and books, demonstrating the power of reading and knowledge.
