Beer Bottle Tops (1968)

Ealing, London. C/U of a bottle of beer being opened; an elderly man, Tom Williams, pours the beer into a glass in his workroom. We then see several shots of Tom at work, making models out of millions of beer bottle tops. He threads yellow ones together to make a lady in a crinoline dress (the head is made of some other material and has a face painted on it). Various shots show Tom’s recreation of the Lord Mayor’s Show, complete with ’golden’ bottle top carriage and spectators; it took 3,500 bottle tops and over eighty hours of work to complete! M/S of a bottle top steam train made from 2,000 bottle tops. Note: there are notes and correspondence on file. Cuts exist - see separate record. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
