Nestled away off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is Pedra do Telégrafo, which is portugese for Telegraph Stone, which is one of the most popular photo opps in South America.
This particular hanging rock over a cliff, is constantly flooded by tourists who wait in line to take pictures while hanging off the stones edge.
But the cliff isn’t actually a cliff at all, in truth, the rock is about 2m above the ground, even if you fall, nothing serious will happen.
But when a photo is taken from the just right angle, cropping out the rocky ground below, it can fool people into thinking, that the people in the photo took a great risk just to get that shot.
Pedra do Telegrafo is atop a 354mtr hill and can take about an hour to hike up to the rock, which is located in Pedra Branca State Park in Rio, which is about an hour’s drive west from the tourist area of Rio de Janeiro.
