After years of escaping the winter and going to warmer weather, we’ve finally embraced the changing seasons. And with spring around the corner and many renovations later, we’ve almost made it through… we can’t wait! Living through -20 degree weather has made us appreciate the sun and not take seasons for granted. We find ourselves basking in the sun every chance we get, even 10 minutes at a time with a hot cup of espresso in our hands! The sun shining through our windows and our new walls up makes us feel so happy and grateful just to be alive and able to share this journey with you! And speaking of, this week is about bringing you along with us as we take a break by taking off our work pants and put on our workout shorts. BUT just as we’re getting hopeful that spring might finally be here, we got visited by an uninvited guest: Old Man Winter! Yes, he popped in for a surprise visit and if we’re honest, he may be overstaying his welcome a bit. How do you tell winter to leave, while still being polite? It’s almost April! But despite our objections, we still made the most of the storm: snow angels, sauna and jumping on a snow-covered trampoline?! All said, we have a lot to be grateful for. We’ve gotten to be so good at plumbing, chopping wood, making pizza and now we have arsenic-free water! Not getting poisoned is our favorite pastime! How did we get here? In the winter of 2019 we moved in to our self built van full time to begin living, working and travelling Canada. We quickly fell in love with chasing our dreams of adventuring off the beaten path, living off grid and being self sustaining. We drove our van thousands of miles through various countries-Canada, USA, Mexico & Guatemala. All of which we documented here on our channel, be sure to check that out! After many years on the open road we found ourselves 15 acres of remote woods on the East Coast of Canada where we are building a homestead and renovating our fully off the grid cabin.
