North Face - Spiber Moon Parka Jacket - Synthetic Spider Silk Fabric Prototype for 2016

The North Face have joined with revolutionary company Spiber to create the world’s first synthetic spider silk fabric garment. This fabric has led to a number of prototypes including the North Face Moon Parka due to be released later on in 2016. Spidersilk fabric is more durable than conventional materials and doesn’t require any fossil fuels to be made, it is simply collected from bacteria that have been engineered to create Fibroin artificially.
