Xi Jinping welcomed Antony Blinken for talks in Beijing, amid new topics of discussion between their countries. The Chinese president shook the US secretary of state’s hand before holding talks, including about potential Chinese involvement with Russia’s campaign in Ukraine. Relations between the superpowers have been on the mend in recent months after reaching a historic low in 2023.
