Redefining beauty standards in the digital era | Sabrina Greer | TEDxOshawa
We are facing a global epidemic! Due to the popularity of social media, and AI technology, youth are experiencing higher levels than ever of body dissatisfaction, low self-esteem, and harmful cognitive dissonance between what is perceived and what is actual beauty.
While we can’t stop the advancement of tools like AI, we can take control of our use and understanding of them. Sabrina wants to go beyond clichés, offering practical strategies grounded in her personal experiences as a model and the unique challenges she had to face in the fashion industry. She wants to explore worthiness beyond trendy self-love, affirmations and the “beauty within” movements and go deeper.
Sabrina believes that through algorithmic transparency, digital literacy programs, early mentorship, and positive body image initiatives, we can teach the next generation to not only discern what’s real and what’s not, but leverage these tools for creativity and self expression!
