Yokahama X-AT G016 Tire Pressure Flex test

Deflating a brand new set of Yokahama X-AT G016’s in size 295/70/R17. I was curious to see the results after watching this video from Tinkerer’s Adventure: I have taken these off-road once and done about 200kms on road. So far I really like them and they had tons of grip in the mud (way more than I was expecting) while being extremely quiet compared to mud terrains. The video results show they don’t seem to flex much until under 14psi but they are brand new. I will try the test again in 5000km and/or again after Summer. Also these are inner locked rims, so I can safely go down to 10PSI in sand and mud. That said, maybe pizza cutters are the way to go for the additional fuel cost savings and cheaper rubber. It also depends whether we can get them here in Australia as I had a quick look and they seem difficult to find. Something else I think is important to consider is stability. I drive a lot in the Victorian high country which has a lot of steep drops off the side of tracks. Does stability change between wide and narrow tires? Or is it all in the wheel offset? I’m not sure but I do suspect there is more to the pros and cons list than just contact patches.
