All the close relatives have already given up: father left them long ago and he now has a new family. His sister also left them and he has not heard from her for several years. Only Andrey won’t give up: by fair means or foul he raises money and prepares papers necessary for her treatment in Germany. Everything is ready but the day before the departure mother dies. Andrey’s world turns upside down. Andrey sets off on a journey. He wants to meet his sister, to look into his father’s eyes and to understand what is going on in his own mind... The film “The son“ is a parable, kind of a dream. It has a simple plot about complex relationships of the son and his parents. The relationship of the protagonist with himself, however, is more important. It is this relationship that leads to the tragic outcome.
