1950s TRIP TO ISRAEL HOME MOVIES VISIT TO A KIBBUTZ 44454

Shot by an unknown American tourist, these silent home movies show a visit to Israel, probably in the late 1950s or early 1960s. The film starts with shots at what appears to be Haifa, including (2:15) a view of the industrial area of the city from a high vista. At around (4:00), the film shows various views of a farm or Kibbutz, with shots of a basketball court, tilled fields, and a group of young kids being escorted by a teacher or nanny (6:14). At (6:35) a sculpture or memorial is shown (if you know where it is, please leave a comment). At (7:20) Jewish pilgrims move through a gate during a festival. At (9:47) shots apparently at another kibbutz or camp with steel sheeting sided houses. At (10:28) Arabs move through the narrow streets of a town. We encourage viewers to add comments and, especially, to provide additional information about our videos by adding a comment! See something interesting? Tell people what it is and what they can see by writing something for example like: “01:00:12:00 -- President Roosevelt is seen meeting with Winston Churchill at the Quebec Conference.“ This film is part of the Periscope Film LLC archive, one of the largest historic military, transportation, and aviation stock footage collections in the USA.
