Full title reads: “One Minute News“. Edinburgh, Scotland. “Fiery Cross“ an ancient Scottish custom ceremony goes round the world to herald the “Scotland can make it“ exhibition. LS a pipe band begins the ceremony by marching onto the field at Edinburgh castle. MS group of runners run onto the field. CU of chiefs of various Scottish Clans. MS Scottish dignitaries walk past camera. CU Head of a Scotsman in a Tam o’ shanter. MS a bearded Scotsman, making a speech from the dais, panning to the pile of crosses stacked on a table. CU The Lord Provost Sir John Falconer lights the crosses. MS Spectators with schoolboys in kilts standing in front. CU Crosses being dipped in goats blood and then being handed to runner. LS Runners setting off. MS Runner arriving at Guildhall, London, hands his cross to Sir George Wilkinson acting for the Lord Mayor of London.
