Sinéad O’Connor, an Irish singer, passed away yesterday at the age of 56. She went on to say that she had had suicidal thoughts for a number of years and that her psychiatrist and her primary care physician were the only things keeping her alive. She begged for someone in her family to take care of her and stated that she was “one of millions“ who are stigmatised due to their mental illness. She said that she was ashamed of her mental condition. O’Connor’s legacy will go on through her three offspring.
