Bedroom Painting Tips and Tricks for Your Home. Navajo White color

In this video I will be showing you my process to paint any room. If you already have some sort of flooring then first thing will be to cover it with drop cloths, paper or anything that you don’t mind getting paint on but protecting the flooring. Remove any outlet/switch covers, fans or anything you don’t want to get paint on. Luckly for us, the owner had already done this. Caulk any edge or around any trim that needs it. I like to use a 2.5“ angled Purdy brush for my painting and I do the ceiling edge first and I make sure for the ceiling paint to go over on the walls like 1/2“. Make sure the brush is nice and full of paint, almost at the point of dripping. I like to use a 3/8“ nap roll for textured walls that are not to thick. For popcorn ceiling i definitely recommend a thick nap roll. When rolling the ceilings and as you can see I don’t cover alot before I have to dip the roll again in the paint tray. This is necessary to achieve a better coverage. This also applies for the walls. For the ceiling second coat I like to roll perpendicular to the first coat. When it comes to doing the edge on the walls I like to use a headlamp when there isn’t enough light on the room. Dip the brush into your hand tray and do somewhat fast strokes it gives you a straighter line as your hand doesn’t have time to shake. Try to cover atleast 4“ from the ceiling down so your roll doesn’t have to go to high and end up touching the ceiling. If you already have baseboards and are painting them then make sure your wall paint goes over the base aboard just barely so when it comes time to paint the base you can make a straighter line. If you are painting by yourself and is not a flat paint then I recommend painting one wall at a time. This will help so the edging paint and roll paint dry at the same time and leave a you seemless pass. If you edge the whole room and then paint the paint will be dry on the edge when you begin to roll and when your roll passes over your edge paint it will make it more shiny. To paint the baseboards, if they are new like in here then paint them before installing, that way you can touch up. If they are already installed then like I mention above you should have gone over the baseboard with your wall paint just a tiny bit. Now once the wall paint has dried over the baseboard then you can make a straighter line. It is easy doing it this way then having to paint the baseboard first then the wall. I hope this helps you a little on your projects.
