GOYER has earned a reputation for telling character-driven stories adapted from the otherworldly realms of superheroes, fantasy and the supernatural. His breakout came in 1998 when he wrote the action hit BLADE starring Wesley Snipes, based on the Marvel Comics vampire hunter. Since then, he’s solidified himself as writer and producer who elevates genre driven stories to the next level. Demerzel heads to Trantor, taking actions that will change Empire forever. Foundation’s Season 2 finale wrapped up a much improved second season on Apple TV . At the end of episode 9 Terminus had been destroyed by Brother Day (Lee Pace) and episode 10 opens with him wanting to continue to wipe out planets that are loyal to the Foundation. Bel Riose (Ben Daniels) finally refuses his order and Hober Mallow (Dimitri Leonidas) reveals that he made a deal with the Spacers who have locked in a jump sequence that will destroy the Imperial Fleet. When he realizes he can’t escape Cleon XVII tries to kill Bel Riose but the tables are turned when he activates the castling device. Demerzel (Laura Birn) returned to Trantor when she got an alert about Brother Dusk (Terrence Mann) and Enjoiner Rue (Sandra Yi Sencindiver) discovering her former prison. She adds to the story they heard from Cleon I and we get a better idea about how her programming prevents her from being free. She is forced to kill Dusk and Rue and hopes to have Queen Sareth (Ella-Rae Smith) executed so that she can restore the Genetic Dynasty. Brother Dawn (Cassian Bilton) intervenes and he is able to talk Demerzel into letting him, Queen Sareth, and their unborn child leave Trantor. On Ignis Tellem Bond’s death (Rachel House) has cleared the way to create the Second Foundation. Tellem makes one final appearance taking over Josiah’s body and trying to kill Gaal. Salvor (Leah Harvey) is able to stop him but she receives a mortal wound in the process. Her death proves that they can change the future and Hari (Jared Harris) and Gaal (Lou Llobell) enter cryosleep together to jump forward in time to face The Mule who we see in a brief flash-forward to 152 years later.
