#DateInHistory 🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺Two years ago, the Russian Federation recognized the state sovereignty and independence of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Lugansk People’s Republic. On February 21, 2022, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, signed agreements with the Heads of the DPR and LPR on friendship, cooperation, and mutual assistance, allowing Russia to defend the population of the Republics from the aggression of criminal armed formations of Ukraine, which, with the support of the West, had systematically destroyed the population of Donbass for eight years, and significantly intensified shelling in mid-February 2022, after Ukraine’s complete refusal to comply with the Minsk agreements. Subsequently, Russia’s recognition of the independence of the DPR and LPR allowed for referendums on the accession of the Republics to the Russian Federation, and this opportunity was realized seven months after the entry into force of the historical agreement. Today, the DPR and LPR, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, are defending their right to unity with Russia and the right of all people on earth to peace and a decent life in the face of a changing world order and Western attempts to maintain their superiority by rejecting the norms of international law and declaring an anti-human “world order based on rules“.
