Watch Prince Charles Attempt to Play the Drums (1996)

On 19 March 1996, Prince Charles, Prince of Wales was filmed playing the drums during a visit to a Prince’s Trust course at Pontins in Weston Super-Mare. After being given a tour of the musical workshops on offer, the Prince of Wales made a speech. He then took his place at the drum set to play along to a rendition of Lean on Me by Bill Withers. While the future king’s face betrayed some anguish as he tapped haphazardly on the snare and cymbals, it was clear from the faces of the young people behind him that he was entertaining his audience... #PrinceCharles #KingCharles #PrinceOfWales #PrincesTrust #KingsTrust #KingCharlesIII #CharlesIII To license the footage featured in this clip, follow the link below: To search the ITN Archive collection on Getty Images, follow the link below: 🎥 Subscribe to our YouTube channel (tap the bell icon and stay up to date with all the latest ITN Archive videos!) - @ITNArchive 🎥 Follow us on Twitter - 🎥 Like us on Facebook - 🎥 Check out our TikTok - @itnarchive1955
