Gold Beating (1950-1959)

Title reads: “British Instructional Films present Gold Beating“. Location of events unknown. Two men work with gold. Man measures raw gold from a flat dish into a beaker. A beaker containing raw material is carried to a small kiln. Intertitle reads: “Melting“. A lid is placed on the top of the kiln. Beaker is brought out of kiln using metal tongs. Intertitle reads: “Casting“. The molten liquid is poured into a mould to make an ingot. The ingot is turned out of the mould and taken to a press. Intertitle reads: “Rolling“. The ingot is passed through the press several times. We see this in C/U. More pressure is gradually applied to flatten the ingot. Intertitle reads: “After 4 hours“.
