Iran: Tehran mourns at funeral of highest ranking military officer killed in Syria

Hundreds gathered in central Tehran on Sunday for the funeral of a top general of the Iranian army, who was leading Iran’s military offensive in Syria. Major General Hossein Hamedani was killed in the vicinity of Aleppo on Thursday evening and is the most senior officer killed in a foreign operation since the Islamic Revolution of 1979.
