LIVE: Japan Airlines Planes Engulfed in Flames at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport; Evacuations Underway Two airplanes caught fire on the runway of Tokyo’s Haneda airport. Local TV showed a large burst of fire erupt from the side of a Japan Airlines plane as it taxied on the runway. NHK TV reported that all passengers aboard, believed to have been about 400 people, got out safely. However, rescue operations for passengers on the second plane are underway. It wasn’t immediately clear what had happened, or if there were any injuries. Haneda is one of the busiest airports in Japan.
