Your Soul is Perfect (Supreme Uniter) by Surya Botofasina with Radha Botofasina
This is Surya Botofasina’s’ Your Soul is Perfect (Supreme Uniter)’, taken from his forthcoming album, Ashram Sun, out October 18th via Spiritmuse Records.
Featuring Surya’s mother Radha Botofasina on harp and vocals,“Your Soul is Perfect (Supreme Uniter)” starts out as an understated head-nodder, but the building chords and steadily percussion eventually ignite into a surging celestial funk jam that was hidden at the centre.
Surya Botofasina says: “The question of our individual purpose as we traverse on Earth is often one we are scared to meet. The intention of this song is to acknowledge the truth about us all- we are beautiful for the beings that we are, with a Light that can never be extinguished. Having courage to be content and happy is no small feat when mental health is involved... The Supreme Uniter is not only a nod to this, but to Meghan Stabile as she dances to this one from stars back to down to us. All of this is only possible due to Magnificent Shakti of Swamini Turiyasangitananda.”
‘Ashram Sun’, Surya Botofasina’s much-anticipated album follows his hugely acclaimed debut ‘Everyone’s Children’ and his first offering since his contribution to ‘New Blue Sun’ and global touring alongside André 3000. It is an ode to Surya’s upbringing and musical teachings in the tradition of Swamini Turiyasangitananda - aka Alice Coltrane, by the spiritual jazz colossus Herself, at Her Sai Anantam Ashram in California.
Returning to the places and spaces of his spiritual and musical upbringing, the keyboardist and vocalist’s second LP delivers an inspiring meditation on the works and message of his mentor, Swamini Turiyasangitananda, better known as Alice Coltrane. Ashram Sun rises in the light of Her spirit.
‘Ashram Sun’ is a deep listening, spiritual masterpiece with close collaborators Carlos Niño and Nate Mercereau, incl. contributions from the high priestesses of music Angel Bat Dawid, Mia Doi Todd, MidnightRoba and Radha Botofasina.
It is true healing music for the Sprit from a progressive Sonic Artist devoted to OneLove.
