Fleshgod Apocalypse - Kingborn Drum Cover by David Diepold

Hello everyone! This is a cover version of ’Kingborn’ by Fleshgod Apocalypse. Francesco Paoli is one of my absolutely favourite metal drummers, due to his super tight and powerful blasts. He is also one of very few, who can really nail a track at 270 bpm in a live situation. So it was very challenging! Especially because of some fill ins and the double bass pattern during the verse. I originally wanted to use heel-toe-technique on this one (like Francesco does), but I didn’t get it as clean as I wanted it to be. So after some takes I switched back to what I’m used to -- which is heel up/swivel. I’m still working on it, or rather my balance during playing heel-toe. Maybe for the next video...
