Ferenc Snétberger’s solo concert at the Erkel Theatre, in the autumn programme of Jazzfest Budapest Ferenc Snétberger’s career as a musician spans almost four decades and has lost none of its momentum. From the very beginning, he has been searching for his own sound, an unmistakable, intimate sound that combines classical music background, Roma tradition, flamenco and jazz. This unique sound has set him apart from a crowded world field, earning him the collegial company of names such as singer-songwriter Bobby McFerrin, legendary bassist Richard Bona, German trumpeter Markus Stockhausen and Italian drumming phenom Paolo Vinaccia. He is the only Hungarian jazz musician whose recordings are released on ECM, the label that has recorded Keith Jarrett, Anouar Brahem and Jan Garbarek, among others.
