THE OUTLAWS All Star Villains! with Don Collier A WORD ON WESTERNS

Before being cast as Sam, the foreman on HIGH CHAPARRAL, Don Collier starred in his own hour long western series. It was called THE OUTLAWS (1960-62). The first season, Don was deputy to the Marshal, played by former Warner Brothers contract player, Barton MacLane. In the second season, Don took over and became Marshal. At the time, THE OUTLAWS was unique in that the stories followed the villains rather than the series regulars. Today, those first season episodes are memorable for casting an array of up and coming young stars. The list of guest star villains includes: Cliff Robertson (3 episodes), James Coburn, Warren Oates, Dean Jones, Cloris Leachman, Steve Forrest, Vic Morrow (3 episodes), Pippa Scott, Brian Keith and William Shatner, to just name a few.
