Perseverance Rover uncovers 10 “Out of This World“ Surprises on Mars Samples Mission

Did someone say we’re going to Mars and bringing back samples? Sign me up! The Three Forks depot is the first of its kind and a major milestone in the NASA-ESA Mars Sample Return campaign. The Perseverance rover is the delivery man, with 10 tubes in tow, deposited on the red planet in a fancy zigzag pattern. But don’t worry, if Perseverance can’t deliver, the Three Forks depot has got our backs as a backup plan. The samples have been named things like “Magic,“ “Crosswind Lake,“ and “Bearwallow“ (which I’m pretty sure is a cartoon character waiting for its next big break). And with a precise map of each tube’s location, there’s no way we’ll lose track of these little Martian treasures. I can’t wait to see what these samples reveal about our neighboring planet.
