Letterland Spelling Tip - ’sh’ sound

Letterland characters act as a support mechanism to provide an explanation for the sound and shape of otherwise abstract black plain letters. The characters’ fun and engaging stories explain not only the sound of letters but also the reasons why these individual sounds change in words. Children will then use the characters as a tool to start to recognise the sounds that plain letters make on their own and when they appear together in words. For more information see
