This Week in Volcano News; Taal Might Erupt, San Miguel Erupts
In the last 48 hours, the Taal volcano produced a continuous volcanic tremor from a fissure just north of its central crater. This suggests the movement of gas or magma which could lead to a new volcanic eruption. Meanwhile in Chile, a volcano which has not erupted for 10,000 years produced a swarm of 50 earthquakes. And, in El Salvador, the San Miguel volcano erupted once again. This video will discuss these stories & list the 42 volcanoes which are actively erupting across the planet.
Note: This video’s thumbnail image displays a lava fountain from the August 2022 eruption of the Fagradalsfjall volcano in Iceland. As of June 3rd of 2023, the Fagradalsfjall volcano is not actively erupting as its last eruption as of the posting of this video ended in August of 2022.
