April Shower consists of singer Heddy Affolter and guitarist and former Schiphol employee Gert Balke. The duo was discovered in 1969 on a talent show by Herman van Veen. The single ’Railroad Song’ became a modest hit in 1971. In 1972 April Shower toured Canada, the United States and Mexico. The single ’Danny’s Song’ (1973), adapted from a song by The Carpenters, is recorded in London with the orchestra of Norrie Paramor (1913-1979).
