Unissued / unused material. Australian newsreel item. Plague of mice, Queensland, Australia. Various shots man shifts sacks of wheat - lots of mice run out. Small dog waiting to catch the mice. Dog and two cats chasing mice. Men lift sheets of metal (supposed to stop mice) to reveal hoards of rodents. Field of wheat, half of it chewed to the ground by mice. Dog standing by as man lifts sacks to show the mice - there are too many for the dog to cope with. Cats being placed near sacks, the sacks are lifted and the mice run out, but the cats just stand and look confused. Cataloguers’ note: don’t watch this item if you have a mouse phobia!
