How To Decorate A Cake With Marzipan (1955)

See some various shots of several figures made from marzipan and chocolate; rabbits, monkeys, Father Christmas. Interesting little educational item - I might try this out! We see various shots of marzipan expert Paul Gogh decorating the top of a cake with marzipan. He winds some plastic flex around a broom handle then rolls this over a piece of marzipan to get a rippled effect on the surface; this covers the top of the cake. The side strip is rippled in the same way, after Paul has rolled some circular marzipan buttons into the length to create a spotted pattern. The strip is stuck to the cake; Paul shows us a few tricks of the trade in doing this. Then a marzipan figure of Father Christmas appears through stop motion technique on the top of the cake. _________ Location: Mitcham, Surrey.
