Genesis - Live in Providence - December 8th, 1974

Genesis Venue: Palace Concert Theatre Location: Providence, Rhode Island, USA Date: December 8th, 1974 Audience recording (merge) Audio Quality: A This is one of the most popular Lamb tour shows, and for good reason. On top of the show presented in very listenable quality (this particular upload uses an excellent merge done by PRRP, with the prominent source being taped by the legendary Dan Lampinski), it’s one of the best performances on the whole tour. This tour is infamous for its poor vocals, but those usually plague the 1975 shows. Being the fifth show in the last four days, Pete’s voice holds up quite well, and actually gets better as the show progresses. As for the band, they’re noticeably much more inspired compared to most performances before this one, playing with ultra precision throughout the set list, especially Phil. This tour is regarded as his best to many, and it’s easy to see why on a tape such as this one. A great show that is essential to any Peter Gabriel-era Genesis fan. 0:00 Story of Rael Part 1 1:16 The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway 6:15 Fly on a Windshield 8:45 Broadway Melody of 1974 10:55 Cuckoo Cocoon 13:08 In the Cage 21:10 The Grand Parade of Lifeless Packaging 24:16 Story of Rael Part 2 27:01 Back in 33:06 Hairless Heart 35:17 Counting Out Time 39:03 Carpet Crawlers 44:42 The Chamber of 32 Doors 50:32 Story of Rael Part 3 53:40 Lilywhite Lilith 56:31 The Waiting Room 1:02:19 Anyway 1:05:49 Here Comes the Supernatural Anaesthetist 1:09:27 The Lamia 1:16:30 Silent Sorrow in Empty Boats 1:20:00 The Colony of Slippermen 1:28:32 Ravine 1:30:14 The Light Dies Down on Broadway 1:33:55 Riding the Scree 1:38:21 In the Rapids 1:40:27 It 1:47:54 The Musical Box 2:01:05 Watcher of the Skies Thumbnail photo taken by Duane Sherwood.
