Mind What Matters: Main Street Promise Project Overview

The City of Vancouver is investing in the future of downtown’s Main Street—making it safer, more accessible and connected for businesses, residents and visitors. The roadway, sidewalks and adjacent outdoor spaces will be reconfigured to improve safety, foster a sense of community and help enhance economic prosperity between 5th and 15th street. Following design development and completion of community outreach, construction is anticipated to begin at the end of 2023 or early 2024. We recently talked with Teresa Brum, Deputy Director of Economic Development at the City of Vancouver, Jason Irving, Senior Engineer at MacKay Sposito and Michael Walker, Executive Director of the Vancouver Downtown Association about details, planning efforts, and how this project will affect downtown businesses.
