The Merchant Of Death | Genghis Khan Documentary

Let’s talk about Genghis Khan. Finally. One of the most feared and famous men in history, which... I guess would make him the most infamous man in history. Genghis Khan established the Mongol Empire, which, at its peak — which notably came after Genghis Khan’s time — was bigger than the Roman Empire ever was. Way bigger. So if you’re thinking about Rome a couple times a day, maybe it’s time to sprinkle some Genghis Khan and Mongol Empire in there. Genghis Khan has some feats to his name, that sound like they are entirely out of an anime, but that’s exactly what makes him one of history’s most unique people to ever exist. Was Genghis Khan evil? Was Genghis Khan good? I lean towards evil, but ultimately, that’s not for me to decide — and I’m about 800 years late to that discussion anyway. Still, this video will shine a light on both sides of the man born as Temüjin and also known Chinggis Khan. From Temüjin’s birth, to Genghis Khan’s death... I cover it all in this video on the father of the Mongol Empire: Episode 2 of ’Blood — The Period(s) Of Conquerors: Genghis Khan’ Subscribe For New Episodes Every Saturday Notes: If you follow my channel, you know I currently cover both history and mythology. With mythology, these videos are often a puzzle to piece together, because sources are scattered, and often unreliable. With history, this changes drastically: A lot of sources are ironclad. But... Genghis Khan is kind of the exception to the rule, because the man was notoriously private. That means we don’t know much about his personal life, and we don’t even really know what the man looks like. Due to that, many people default to Genghis Khan having dark hair and a dark beard, but most accounts of his depiction are very biased or flat out propaganda. The only non-biased piece of description of Genghis Khan’s appearance that is unbiased and purely written for the sake of describing what he looks like to a messenger... that account actually states that Genghis Khan had red hair and green eyes. Thus, this is the look I went with for this video. Of course, this can not be confirmed, so you are free to draw your own conclusions. Also keep in mind that history is written by the winners, and rewritten by sore losers, so with a conqueror such as Genghis Khan was... a lot of the facts are forever lost to the time. And if you want to know more about Genghis Khan’s mysterious grave, then let me know. Maybe we’ll do a special. Maybe I’ll even try to find it and take you on the journey with me... who knows.
