Secret Service — Friday Night (VIDEOART, 1981 Album Version)

DOWNLOAD/LISTEN: Tim Norell: “As well as being the songwriter for Secret Service, I often took on the role of the band’s photographer, grabbing my camera to document our journey. As I looked through the old photos, an idea formed to make a video out of it. For some incomprehensible reason we never released “Friday Night“ as a single but, like most of my songs, it has a tone of melancholy which was fitting as I made the video in memory of Tonny Lindberg, our wonderful guitarist who passed away after a period of illness in 2019. I have also added the only early photos I have of Björn Håkanson, my ingenious lyricist for the early Secret Service songs. I think very few have ever actually seen any photos of him before ....“ Music: Tim Norell Lyrics: Björn Håkanson Lyrics: Friday night When we say goodbye Oh Friday night Then summer will die Just one look in your eyes When you go And summer will die Oh what a Friday night When I wake up early tomorrow And I walk down in the morning dew I turn my head when the sparrow Sings a song to you There’re the flowers that grow in my garden Stand in season – blue, white and red But without you here I won’t see them To me summer’s dead Friday night When we say goodbye Oh Friday night Then summer will die Just one look in your eyes When you go And summer will die Oh what a Friday night For a moment a breeze on the terrace Sounds like your voice, so gentle and mild An illusion that will surface All from time to time Like a child who is chasing the rainbow I’ll try to trust in days ahead Until the day in my sorrow To me summer’s dead Friday night When we say goodbye Oh Friday night Then summer will die Just one look in your eyes When you go And summer will die Oh what a Friday night All photos by Tim Norell All rights reserved @2020 Tim Norell Musikproduktion Links: — Secret Service’s official site — Tim Norell’s official page — Tim Norell’s official Facebook — Secret Service’s BandCamp page #SecretService #TimNorell #80s
