Billy Nicholls was originally hired by Andrew Loog Oldham as a songwriter for Oldham’s Immediate records. Oldham was so entranced by the Beach boys “Pet sounds“ in 1966, that he enlisted Billy to record a British response, which became this forgotton album. Oldham wanted this to be the british “Pet sounds“ but financial difficulties caused the project to be shelved. It only received a promotional run of 100 copies before it ever made it to the record buying public. In 1998 Billy re-released it on his own record label Southwest records. It became more available when it was released in 1999 on Sequal Castle communications music company. Several editions have been released ever since, & this great album has develpoed a cult-like following. With well known players on the album with Billy, Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Ian Mclagan, Caleb Quaye John Paul Jones, Kenney Jones, Jerry Shirley,Big Jim Sullivan,Joe Moretti, Nicki Hopkins & backing vocals Barry Husband & Denny Gerrard.
