Sonnie is a humanoid robot developed by Peter & David team, which consisting of 34 proprioceptive compliant actuators. With a height of and a weight of 55kg, Sonnie’s legs utilize four high-torque density force-controlled joints, while its arms have 7 degrees of freedom (identical to humans). The waist and head have 3 degrees of freedom each. Sonnie can achieve human-like motion capabilities, and its highly modular and reusable complaint actuators make it ideal for large-scale production.
Thanks to high torque density actuators, the robot body can achieve human-like body weight and height while also achieving motion capabilities similar to or even surpassing humans. Sonnie has a highly biomimetic body structure.
Sonnie can communicate externally through 5G cellular network, WIFI6, Bluetooth 5.0, making it easy for remote real-time control and debugging. The robot features a highly robust WBC (whole-body dynamics control) and MPC (model predictive control) algorithm for dynamic balance and obstacle avoidance. It also uses SOTA reinforcement learning motion control algorithms, imitation learning algorithms, large-scale parallel dynamic simulation, and neural network training frameworks, enabling the robot to achieve a wide variety of full-body motion controls that can adapt to complex and changing human social scenarios.
