The Feast Of The Grapes (1930)

Full titles read: “The feast of the grapes“ (new title) “In sunlit Marino, that old and picturesque little city near Rome, where every year they celebrate the vintage time with processions and blessings.“ Marino, Italy. Various shots of crowds gathered in the town of Marino for a procession. Intertitle reads: “The streets are thronged, and bands and bell-ringing mingle with the laughter and murmur of the merry crowds.“ More shots of the crowds and procession. Several religious statues are carried, including Jesus on the cross. A clergyman sprinkles holy water over the crowd. Children in fancy dress costume and white dresses take part in the parade. Intertitle reads: “Grapes are distributed to all and sundry, golden wine from a gigantic cask runs freely from little fountains - and the whole town makes whoopee!“ Several shots show grapes being handed out to the crowd. People fill small paper cones with wine from the fountains and seem to pelt each other with grapes.
