This bite size frightful history videos looks at the brutal execution of the Lord Chancellor; Sir Thomas More. Thomas was executed for treason when he refused to acknowledge Henry VIII as Head of the Church of England. Thomas was a devout Catholic and did not agree with Henry divorcing Catherine of Aragon to marry Anne Boleyn. He resigned from his post as Chancellor and even failed to attend Anne’s coronation. Thomas was executed at Tower Hill in July 1535 and his head was placed on a spike, until his daughter retrieved it.
